What I know about the violin is back in 1991-1993ish I played in a small community orchestra called the Sewickley Symphony. I had just graduated from college and an elderly man with a thick Eastern European accent sat near me, he also played the violin. One rehearsal he gave me that violin and told me that “this violin is very special, it was made in a Polish concentration camp.” I took care of that violin and replaced the chin rest and tuning pegs but know nothing further. The wood seems very crude and unrefined to me. I don’t know if you have any way of verifying its origin.
I will try to do more research as to who that elderly man might have been. I will let you know if I get more information.
Best regards,
Kathy
