Playing Level: Excellent
The violin belonged to an Austrian Jewish player who immigrated to China in the 1930’s. The violin was used by the owner, alongside his other violin. He used to play in nightclubs, hotels as well as the Shanghai Symphony. The owner left to the United States in the 1950’s, but the violin stayed behind in China with a collector. It was later bought by Xinou Wei, who played it for many years.
