Lahav Shani leads a musical program of prayer, passion, and remembrance. The evening features IPO’s principal cellist Haran Meltzer performing Bruch’s Kol Nidrei and principal flutist Guy Eshed performing Bernstein’s Halil—both pieces inspired by and for the Jewish community. From emotional extremes to an unexpected and lamenting finale, Tchaikovsky’s emboldened and unequivocally Romantic Sixth Symphony is his finest creation. “Without exaggeration, I have put my whole soul into this symphony,” Tchaikovsky.
Statement on the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Concert
The Philharmonic Society of Orange County is committed to presenting a diverse array of musical performances that foster cultural exchange and artistic excellence. We recognize the deeply held beliefs and concerns expressed by members of our community regarding the upcoming concert featuring the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra on March 26 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
