Volunteer Committees

Funds raised by The Committees support the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. The mission of the Philharmonic Society, a not-for-profit organization, is to foster, promote and increase the knowledge and appreciation of music and the arts through the presentation of performances of national and international stature and the development and implementation of a wide variety of education outreach programs.

More than 200,000 Orange County students, from kindergarten through high school, participate yearly in the Youth Programs provided by The Committees of the Philharmonic Society. The volunteers of The Committees create and fund an extensive array of programs. More than 1,500 presentations are offered by professional musicians and trained docents at no charge to public and private schools in the county.

The Philharmonic Society volunteers are organized into 24 Committees, generally around geographic location. If you share our enthusiasm for bringing music to children, we invite you to join us. For information on membership please call Marcia Miller, Volunteer Coordinator at (949) 553-2422, Ext. 227. On the sidebar is a link to a page for each of The Committees.

The Youth Programs are coordinated with Orange County school districts. Individual attendance is not permitted. If you would like information on the Youth Programs, click below to request a brochure or view the schedule. Concert reservation request forms are e-mailed to every Orange County school district in mid-September for distribution to the schools. Click here for list of district coordinators. Private schools will receive forms by mail.
